38th Avenue Water Tank
Completion Date: Summer 2024
Location: Nashville, TN
Project Type: Demolition, Earthwork
About this Project
In the heart of Nashville, our team successfully
completed the demolition of a partially
underground 2.5-million-gallon water tank. The
project involved processing concrete from the
tank to meet specifications for structural fill,
ensuring its reuse in the redevelopment process.
Imported and placed 20,000 cubic yards of clay material to extend and stabilize the site.
Highlights:
• Demolish and process existing 20,000
square feet water tank
• Coordinated backfill with water line
installs
• Coordinate fill with construction of 15-
foot cast in place retaining walls.
Site Conditions:
• In the middle of a residential neighborhood, which led to very tight work conditions.
• There was a 30-foot elevation change from one site to another.
• The road’s leading to the site were narrow for import and export.
